September Update

September was another busy and productive month for APL and our clients. We received 25 referrals and facilitated 28 placements. Kudos to our clients, coaches and partners.

I’d like to highlight one of our placements – EM placed with Sodexo at RCNJ. EM is homeless and lives at a shelter. Now that he is employed, the Rescue Mission of NJ will help him secure housing. Wow – this underscores really what an impact SE services can have for our clients. Potentially life changing and life saving! Kudos to all of you at the State of NJ who work tirelessly with our clients!

In other news, APL Associates has been approved to offer Pre-ETS services (please see attached) throughout our footprint. We developed our curriculum and resources to offer a cross disciplinary approach focusing on:

• Job Exploration Counseling

• Counseling & guidance services on comprehensive transition, vocational training, industry recognized credential programs and post- secondary school training programs like 2 and 4 year colleges

• Work based learning experiences, internships, apprenticeships

• Workplace readiness training to develop social skills and independent living

• Instruction in Self Advocacy
